The Big Fish quartet is the fruit of a collaboration between the aerial trio Dancing Birds (Julien Soro, Gabriel Midon, Ariel Tessier) and alto saxophonist Léa Ciechelski; a plunge into the imaginary world of water and air.Originally founded to celebrate the music of great 20th-century jazz composers and musicians such as Paul Motian, Ornette Coleman and Chris Lightcap, the group quickly took a more personal and original direction. From "Bruime" to "Eaux Trouble"; from the delirious little "Barjo Banjo" to the tender "Monsieur Loyal" (which will be played three times); each member of the group adds his or her composer's pen to bring to life a profound and light music.Saxophonists Julien Soro and Léa Ciechelski are the voices that sing, shout, clamor and murmur, while the rhythmic tandem of Tessier-Midon steers, supports and steers the big fish on the waves.Freedom, whirlwind, weightlessness, games, power, contemplation... these are just some of the words that resonate when you come into contact with Big Fish....
