Fondé par Etienne Mbappé (bassite de John McLaughlin, Joe Zawinul, Salif Keita...), NEC+ est né en avril 2019, sur la scène du Baiser salé Jazz Club et réunit, autour du bassiste aux mains gantées de soie noire, les baguettes magiques de Nicolas Viccaro à la batterie, et la finesse harmonique, la beauté mélodique, et l’archet déchirant de Christophe Cravero, au piano, aux claviers, et au violon.  NEC+ distille une musique intense, surprenante, chantante, dansante… aux sonorités résolument jazz, où soufflent parfois les vents d’Afrique et d’ailleurs. Une musique aérienne, quand les harmonies cristallines enlacent des mélodies caressantes ; terrienne, quand les rythmiques sauvages expriment une audacieuse soif de liberté. Le trio fusionne les genres en faisant la part belle à l’improvisation.
