This fiery, masterful new project, the fifth in the quartet's fifteen-year history, gives us a chance to appreciate musicians who have come of age together, capable like few others of expressing complex, nuanced emotions in a jazz idiom. Après Le plus longtemps possible paru en 2022, qui leur a valu un « Coup de coeur » de l’Académie Charles Cros mais aussi le titre de « Groupe de l’année » selon les rédactions de Jazz News et Jazz Magazine, les quatre musiciens de Flash Pig ont choisi, comme fil conducteur de leur nouveau disque, une histoire d'amour et d'imagination : In the Mood for Love, chef d'œuvre du réalisateur Wong Kar Wai. Ce nouveau projet, brûlant et maîtrisé, le cinquième en quinze ans d’existence du quartet, nous permet d’apprécier des musiciens arrivés ensemble à maturité, capables comme peu d'autres d'exprimer des émotions complexes et nuancées avec un idiome jazz.
