The For A Word project marks an independent jazz-pop direction, different from the Gauthier Toux repertoire. This project was born at the Cully Jazz Festival 2018 during a carte blanche residency offered to Gauthier. He invited the Lucerne singer Léa Fries (Vsitor, 22 ° Halo), Geneva drummer Valentin Liechti (Taiga, Vsitor, 22 ° Halo) and French bassist Julien Herné (Vincent Peirani, Emile Parisien, Nicolas Folmer and Axel Bauer. ..). Le projet For A Word, marque une direction jazz-pop indépendante, différente du répertoire de Gauthier Toux. Ce projet est né au Cully Jazz festival 2018 lors d'une résidence-carte blanche offerte à Gauthier. Il y a invité la chanteuse lucernoise Léa Fries (Vsitor, 22°Halo), le batteur genevois Valentin Liechti (Taïga, Vsitor, 22°Halo) et le bassiste français Julien Herné (Vincent Peirani, Emile Parisien, Nicolas Folmer, Axel Bauer...). Fort de cette expérience intense, Gauthier a décidé d'en faire son quatrième album. Entre décembre 2017 et décembre 2018, le groupe a organisé 5 résidences de travail de 3 jours au cours desquelles ont été créées et enregistrées des maquettes de ce que sera l'album intitulé "For a word". Le thème du disque s'articule autour des "mots", des sons. C'est une musique à la rencontre du jazz, des musiques improvisées, de la pop indépendante et la musique électronique.
