They're back, and it's going to be hot! After more than ten years of absence, the legendary quartet Sakèsho returns to the stage and chooses the Baiser Salé to celebrate this fiery reunion. It's here that they played so much, perfected their sound, and made Parisian nights vibrate with their infectious energy. Formed around a shared love for jazz and Caribbean rhythms, Sakèsho quickly established itself as a reference, with its explosive blend of Creole tradition, free improvisation, and chiseled writing. On the piano, Mario Canonge, a central figure in Afro-Caribbean jazz, combines the fire of Martinique bèlè, the elegance of modal jazz, and the passion of Latin jazz. He has made his mark on stages around the world with Laviso, Sakiyo, Ultramarine, and even solo, but it's at the Baiser Salé that he has often chosen to develop his most personal projects. Michel Alibo, on bass, is one of the great architects of modern groove. A founding member of Sixun and a collaborator of Salif Keita, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Kassav', he deploys a supple and luminous power that deeply anchors the group's sound. On drums, Jean-Philippe Fanfant is a master of rhythm. Called upon by the greatest musicians (Kassav', Tania Maria, Angélique Kidjo), he masters swing as much as zouk and samba, and infuses Sakesho with an energy that is both precise and generous. Finally, Andy Narell, an absolute master of the steelpan in contemporary jazz and a pioneer in the integration of this traditional Caribbean instrument into the world of jazz, brings a unique, poetic, and percussive sound to the quartet. His melodious and enveloping playing makes each concert a sonic journey. For this rare concert, Sakesho is reuniting in the Parisian venue that witnessed the growth of their artistic collaboration. A vibrant and generous evening, between reunions, improvisation, and rhythmic fire!...
