Maxime Sanchez est un pianiste aussi intense que discret. Il peut étourdir par son toucher percussif, son vocabulaire harmonique immense. Néanmoins il laisse respirer la musique comme si la virtuosité n'existait pas. Son approche du trio est le fruit d'influences soigneusement étudiées, qui lui ont valu le troisième prix de la Thelonious Monk competition. Ce projet naît aussi d'une éthique de la musique, où l'ambition personnelle n'est pas préférée à l'altruisme, où les réponses ne remplacent jamais les questions. Ce tout premier disque en tant que leader a attendu l'épanouissement d'une relation viscérale avec les deux musiciens qui accompagnent : Maxime Florent Nisse à la contrebasse et Guilhem Flouzat à la batterie.
