“Helicon” was formed in 2019 by saxophonist and composer Olga Amelchenko, alongside some of the finest musicians from the Paris jazz scene: a singer Charlotte Wassy, Enzo Carniel on piano, Viktor Nyberg on the bass, and Nicolas Charlier on drums. The band draws inspiration from the works of poets - Guillaume Apollinaire, Arthur Rimbaud, channeling their expressions of exaltation, melancholy, joy, and beauty.Olga’s compositional approach goes beyond a mere overlay of music on poetry.
