Spotted by Avishai Cohen for his virtuosity and knowledge of Arabo-Andalusian music, chaâbi and jazz, Omri Mor was invited to tour with him in a trio all over the world. From the age of 14, he took lessons by ear from oud player Nino "El Maghribi" Bitton while studying at the Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music alongside Benjamin Oren, Arnie Lawrence and Slava Ganelin. His debut album 'It's About Time', on which he surrounded himself with an exceptional cast (Avishai Cohen on double bass, Michel Alibo on electric bass and Karim Ziad on drums), reveals a style of playing with perfectly mastered influences, revealing an extraordinary pianistic talent. Repéré par Avishai Cohen pour sa virtuosité et sa connaissance de la musique arabo-andalouse, du chaâbi et du jazz, Omri Mor est invité à tourner avec lui en trio dans le monde entier. Dès 14 ans, il suit les cours, à l'oreille, du oudiste Nino « El Maghribi » Bitton pendant qu'il étudie à la Jerusalem Rubin Academy of Music aux côtés de Benjamin Oren, Arnie Lawrence ou Slava Ganelin. Son premier album « It’s About Time », où il s’entoure d’un casting d’exception (Avishai Cohen à la contrebasse, Michel Alibo à la basse électrique et Karim Ziad à la batterie) nous dévoile un jeu aux influences parfaitement maîtrisées révélant un talent pianistique hors normes. Nous retrouvons ce trio historique qui ne s’était pas produit à Paris depuis des années dans la nouvelle saison de Jazz à l’ECUJE.
