Dynamic European jazz trio Phronesis make a welcome return to Paris to play 2 nights at Duc des Lombards to celebrate the French launch of their highly anticipated new album, Walking Dark.

In 2010 Phronesis captured the hearts and minds of British audiences and developed a fierce reputation as one of the most formidable trios in the UK. They were nominated for ‘Best Jazz Ensemble’ in the Parliamentary Jazz Awards, featured on the front cover of Jazzwise Magazine and nominated for ‘Best Jazz Act’ at the prestigious 2010 MOBO Awards. 2010 also saw the trio gain increasing attention in Europe, with acclaimed performances at the Banlieues Bleues Festival in Paris, and the Copenhagen and North Sea Jazz Festivals in addition to the Brecon, Glasgow and London Jazz Festivals in the UK. Formed by Danish bass player Jasper Hoiby in 2005, the energy & individuality of Phronesis comes from an extraordinary democracy of expression & almost telepathic empathy between the musicians - three of the finest players on the European jazz scene today. British pianist Ivo Neame & Swedish drummer Anton Eger come together with Hoiby to create a polyrythmic sound that is utterly accessible despite its underlying complexity, full of emotion & heart yet always delivered with clarity & direction.
