Avec son groupe, composé de jeunes musiciens très doués, il a offert un large bouquet de chansons pleines de fraîcheur. La charmante et expressive Mai Lan Doky était au premier plan, soutenue par le reste de l'équipe avec énergie et beaucoup de swing. » Il s’entoure de la talentueuse chanteuse et compositrice Mai Lan Doky Farlot, voix importante sur la scène R&B et soul européenne. Avec sa voix naturelle et organique, elle est souvent décrite comme une Sade moderne. Fille du célèbre pianiste de jazz Niels Lan Doky, elle a grandi dans cet environnement musical qui constitue également une part importante de son univers musical. Elle s'est produite au Standard (Copenhague), au festival de jazz de Copenhague avec Thaddeus Sledge et avec des musiciens tels que : Victor Jones, François Moutin, Anders Mogensen, Gabor Bolla, Darryll Jones, Bill Evans, Harvey Mason... Dans la lignée des petits prodiges, on retrouve sur scène son frère Ken Linh Doky, pianiste et clavieriste qui s’est illustré entre autres aux victoires de la musique avec SCH, mais aussi Aya Nakamura, Gabe Bridgewater's Zinq, Yahzarah, Camille Sledge, Jordan Jackson, Isildo Novela et même Sister Sledge au festival Jazz In Marciac.Né à Copenhague, le contrabassiste de ce quintet explosif, Anders Fjeldsted est très recherché de la scène jazz scandinave. Il a joué avec un large éventail de grands groupes danois et internationaux et, en 2017, il a été l'un des lauréats du prix Bent Jædig. Né à Copenhague lui aussi, David Besiakov est un batteur également très actif sur la scène Danoise.Saxophoniste, flutistes, compositeur, Simon Spang-Hanssen, a suivi un parcours d’une grande richesse depuis les années 70, rythmé par des collaborations prestigieuses (Andy Emler, Billy Hart ou Frank Tortiller pour ne citer qu’eux). En 2015, il sort “Stonetown Boogie”, un disque empreint d’une séduisante africanité. Il revient en 2016 avec “Ear Witness” qui fait la part belle au groove. Outre ces mélanges chaleureux, on y trouve quelques balades dans lesquelles Spang-Hanssen fait honneur à sa réputation de grand mélodiste. Quant au morceau qui donne son nom à l’album, il est pétri d’un groove binaire bien épais et de riffs de saxophone tranchants qui débordent de funk.
