Between tradition and modernity, Creole roots and universal aspirations, writing and improvisation, the drummer and young master of the gwo-ka drum, Sonny Troupé, has played with the greatest: Kenny Garrett, Reggie Washington, David Murray, Dédé Saint Prix, Lisa Simone... and has recorded personal projects that have been noticed and praised by the critics, notably with the pianist Grégory Privat. The ZJL collective: "Zouké Jazz La !" is an association of musicians created by Sonny, including Alex Deaz, Yann Négrit, Fabrice Fanfan, Patrice Coyo etc... Entre tradition et modernité, racines créoles et aspirations universelles, écriture et improvisation, le batteur et jeune maître du tambour gwo-ka Sonny Troupé, a joué avec les plus grands : Kenny Garrett, Reggie Washington, David Murray, Dédé Saint Prix, Lisa Simone… et a enregistré des projets personnels remarqués et salués par la critique, notamment avec le pianiste Grégory Privat. Le collectif ZJL : "Zouké Jazz La ! » est une association de musiciens créée par Sonny regroupant entre autres Alex Deaz, Yann Négrit, Fabrice Fanfan, Patrice Coyo etc... Un répertoire autour de leur amour pour la musique Zouk et la musique improvisée, une revisite de morceaux connus et moins connus, en version instrumentale, originale, et jazzifiée !  À cela s'ajoutent en mode "ZJL", des compos de chacun des membres présents.
