This new sextet formation becomes the instrument of protean inspiration and the tool of refined, expressionist writing.Sophie Alour discovered the saxophone at the age of 19, teaching herself to play. Very quickly, the stage became her learning ground. From the 2000s onwards, she collaborated with major figures in jazz, including Wynton Marsalis, the Belmondo brothers, and Aldo Romano, among others. She gained a wealth of experience and asserted her unique voice, both as a leader and as a sideman. Since then, she has released eight albums under her own name, all critically acclaimed for their artistic excellence and freedom of inspiration.A member of Rhoda Scott's quartet for over 20 years, she has also performed alongside Christophe Dal Sasso, Glenn Ferris, Biréli Lagrène, Jeff Ballard, Ambrose Akinmusire, Leon Parker, André Ceccarelli, Géraldine Laurent, Airelle Besson, and many others.His career has been marked by numerous awards: Django d'Or for Young Talent in 2007, Génération Spedidam in 2018, the Django Reinhardt Prize from the Académie du Jazz in 2020, and Victoire du Jazz in 2022 in the Instrumental Artist of the Year category....

Cette nouvelle formation en sextet devient l'instrument d'une inspiration protéiforme et l'outil d'une écriture épurée et expressionniste.Sophie Alour découvre le saxophone à l’âge de 19 ans, en autodidacte. Très vite, la scène devient son terrain d’apprentissage. À partir des années 2000, les collaborations s’enchaînent avec des figures majeures du jazz : Wynton Marsalis, les frères Belmondo, Aldo Romano, entre autres. Elle multiplie les expériences et affirme sa voix singulière, aussi bien en leader qu’en sidewoman.
