Influenced by the modern jazz of Tiggran Hamasyan, Ben Wendel as well as his Breton origins, Sylvain Le Ray takes you on a journey between traditional, classical and jazz music...Winner of the "Jeunes & Jazz" stage of the Jazz Festival in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, he graduated in musicology, obtained his DEM and the congratulations of the jury and became passionate about jazz as soon as he started playing in an orchestra. He participates in many projects and approaches a wide range of musical styles: Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, pop, traditional Breton music, electro, rock/folk, salsa, Brazilian music, Guadeloupean music... Sylvain Le Ray est pianiste et compositeur, il exprime une musique intense, sensible parfois poétique. Influencé par le jazz moderne de Tiggran Hamasyan, Ben Wendel ainsi que ses origines bretonnes, Sylvain Le Ray vous fait voyager entre musiques traditionnelles, classiques et jazz…Lauréat de la scène « Jeunes & Jazz » du Festival Jazz à Saint-Germain-des-Prés, il est diplômé en musicologie, obtient son DEM et les félicitations du jury et se prend de passion pour le jazz dès qu’il commence à jouer en orchestre. Il participe à de nombres projets et aborde un large panel de styles musicaux : Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, pop, musique traditionnelle bretonne, électro, rock/folk, salsa, musiques brésiliennes, musique guadeloupéenne… Son premier album sorti en son nom (« The Unchosen Way », août 2020) invite l’auditeur dans son imaginaire, puisant à la fois dans le jazz, la musique classique et la musique traditionnelle. Créé en 2012, le créneau #JazzDeDemain a donné naissance à une série de résidences mensuelles et bimestrielles, permettant à des jeunes artistes d’expérimenter la scène, de rôder un répertoire, tout en le présentant au public.
