TDB3 was born out of a meeting between drummer Quentin Braine and pianist Benjamin Thiébault, two composers from Montpellier with similar musical backgrounds, both influenced by modern New York and Scandinavian jazz.Impressed by the homogeneity that emerged from the blend of their repertoires during a jam session, they decided to join forces to co-present their albums: “Emergence” (B. Thiébault / Parallel Records 2020) and “What's Beyond” (Q. Braine / Jazz Family 2023). They chose the excellent double bassist Romain Delorme to bridge the gap with his solid and playful lines.This new collaboration has already generated a lot of enthusiasm at Sunside in Paris and at Jazz in Marciac. Le TDB3 est né de la rencontre entre le batteur Quentin Braine et le pianiste Benjamin Thiébault, deux compositeurs montpelliérains aux univers proches, tous deux influencés par le jazz moderne new-yorkais et scandinave.Saisis par l'homogénéité émanant du mélange de leur répertoire à l'occasion d'une jam session, ils décident de s'unir pour co-présenter leurs albums : “Emergence” (B. Thiébault / Parallel records 2020) et “What's Beyond” (Q. Braine /Jazz Family 2023). C'est l'excellent contrebassiste Romain Delorme qu'ils choisissent pour marquer le trait d'union avec ses lignes solides et espiègles.Cette nouvelle collaboration à déjà suscité beaucoup d'enthousiasme au Sunside à Paris ainsi que sur le off de Jazz in Marciac.
