Neil Saidi is a young French saxophonist born in 1991. Primarily an alto saxophonist, he is also regularly heard on tenor and baritone saxophones. He studied at the CNSM in Paris and the New School for Jazz in New York. Today, he is the artistic director of ZOOT Collectif, which he founded in 2016 with other French musicians of his generation. This collective brings together talented young musicians around their passion for jazz and their desire to offer original artistic creations. His main influences include Sonny Rollins, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Jackie McLean and Gerry Mulligan. A lover of bebop, he has dug this furrow and developed his musical personality over the years through new discoveries and musical encounters.Neil composes and arranges music for small and large ensembles. His latest projects include the "Zoot Symphonique" project, the "Pannonica" show and the Zoot Octet's latest album, "Zoot Suite Vol.2". The latter received a warm welcome from the critics (Indispensable Jazz News, Record of the Day on TSF Jazz, Record of the Week on Jazz a Fip).The saxophonist is lucky enough to share the stage with more experienced musicians such as Alain Jean-Marie, Gilles Naturel, Philippe Soirat... Neil Saidi est un jeune saxophoniste français né en 1991. S’exprimant principalement au saxophone alto, on l’entend aussi régulièrement aux saxophones tenor et baryton. Il a étudié au CNSM de Paris et à la New School for Jazz à New York. Il est aujourd'hui le directeur artistique du ZOOT Collectif, qu’il a fondé en 2016 avec d’autres musiciens français de sa génération. Ce collectif rassemble de jeunes musiciens talentueux autour de leur passion pour le jazz et leur envie de proposer des créations artistiques originales. Parmi ses influences principales on peut citer Sonny Rollins, Lester Young, Charlie Parker, Jackie McLean, Gerry Mulligan. Amoureux de be-bop, il creuse ce sillon et développe au fil des années sa personnalité musicale au gré de nouvelles découvertes et rencontres musicales.Neil compose et arrange de la musique pour petites et grandes formations. On peut retrouver ses dernières réalisations avec le projet "Zoot Symphonique", le spectacle « Pannonica » et le dernier disque du Zoot Octet, « Zoot Suite Vol.2 ». Ce dernier reçoit un chaleureux accueil de la critique (Indispensable Jazz News, Disque du jour sur TSF Jazz, Disque de la semaine sur le club Jazz a Fip).Le saxophoniste à la chance de partager la scène avec des musiciens plus expérimentés tels qu’Alain Jean-Marie, Gilles Naturel, Philippe Soirat... Avec qui il a récemment enregistré un disque, accompagné par son acolyte trompettiste Noé Codjia, à paraître en 2022. Neil a vécu à New York, où il a étudié grâce à diverses bourses (Commission Fulbright et Fondation Safran pour la musique). Il y a enregistré son premier disque « New York Sessions » sorti sur le label "Gut String Records", une photographie du temps passé là -bas et des belles rencontres musicales qui s’y sont produites.
