Jules Jassef started playing the trumpet at the age of 6, after two years of guitar. He started playing jazz at the Collège de Marciac, in the Gers. After passing through various conservatories in the south-west of France where he studied classical trumpet, jazz, choral conducting and dance, he joined the Jazz and Generative Improvisation classes at the CNSM in Paris and the Jazz Art Department at the Manhattan School of Music in New York. He studied trumpet with Médéric Collignon and Ingrid Jensen and composition with François Theberge and Jim McNeely.Since his debut, Jules Jassef has had the opportunity to play in Europe and around the world, such as at the Jazz in Marciac festival, in Guinea Conakry, at the Palais Montcalm in Montreal (CA), at Dizzy's Club Coca Cola (NYC), at the Alexander Platz club in Rome, among groups such as the Umlaut Big Band, Riccardo Del Fra's Quintet, or the Dedicaion Big Band.Created in 2012, the #JazzFromTomorrow slot has given birth to a series of monthly and bimonthly residencies, allowing young artists to experiment on stage, to hone a repertoire, while presenting it to the public. Jules Jassef commence la trompette à l'âge de 6 ans, après deux ans de guitare. Il débute le jazz au Collège de Marciac, dans le Gers. Après des passages parmi divers conservatoires du sud-ouest ou il étudie la trompette classique, le jazz, la direction de chœur et la danse, il intègre les classes de Jazz et d'Improvisation générative du CNSM de Paris ainsi que le Jazz Art Department de la Manhattan School of Music a New York. Il étudie la trompette avec notamment Médéric Collignon et Ingrid Jensen ainsi que la composition avec François Theberge ou Jim McNeely.Jules Jassef a eu depuis ses débuts l’occasion de jouer en Europe et dans le monde, comme au festival Jazz in Marciac, en Guinée Conakry, au Palais Montcalm à Montréal (CA), au Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola (NYC), au club Alexander Platz à Rome, parmi des groupes tels que le Umlaut Big Band, le Quintet de Riccardo Del Fra, ou le Dedicaion Big Band. Créé en 2012, le créneau #JazzDeDemain a donné naissance à une série de résidences mensuelles et bimestrielles, permettant à des jeunes artistes d’expérimenter la scène, de rôder un répertoire, tout en le présentant au public.
