En participant activement à l’émergence du bebop dans les années 1940, le saxophoniste donne une nouvelle approche de la mélodie, du rythme et de l’harmonie. C’est lors de jam sessions auprès de Thelonious Monk, Charlie Christian, Max Roach et Kenny Clarke que Charlie Parker rompt avec le swing pour poser les bases du bebop. Il fait son premier concert à 12 ans et devient professeur de batterie à 17 ans. Il est le coleader du groupe de jazz Prysm.Élu meilleur soliste et meilleur groupe avec Prysm au Concours de Jazz de La Défense, puis Django d’Or en 1998, il se produit dans de nombreux clubs, salles de concert et festivals à travers le monde. En parallèle, il mène une activité de compositeur et de réalisateur teintée de pop et de jazz. Il enrichit également sa créativité par la pratique intensive du chant et de la danse.
