Gypsy music in France: the violin meets the guitarThe Gypsy people, before arriving in France, have traveled for centuries since leaving India. It has come into contact with multiple cultures which have forged his complex cultural heritage. The Sinti branch, established mainly in Italy, France and Germany, stands out for its musical touch, where traditional music mixes with American jazz. The gypsies play gypsy jazz with a lot of acoustic guitars, violins and double basses, and create a French jazz "without drums or trumpet".
