Né d'une volonté commune de retrouver la musique de Django Reinhardt et Stéphane Grappelli, ce quintet réunit à nouveau sur scène deux musiciens incontournables du paysage du jazz français, le violoniste Mathias Levy et le guitariste Sébastien Giniaux. Portés par une rythmique typique des années d'après-guerre - guitare manouche, contrebasse et batterie - assurée par trois musiciens exceptionnels, les deux amis s'amusent à nous faire redécouvrir les compositions de Django Reinhardt et autres standards de jazz particuliers à cette période de la fin des années 40. Un répertoire assez peu joué et pourtant éclatant, où l'on peut entendre clairement dans l'écriture et la manière d'improviser de Django ses influences de l'époque, entre le jazz manouche, Claude Debussy et le be-bop naissant.
