Sylvain Le Ray paints a universe that is contemplative, poetic and also very urban. The composer draws his inspiration from the modern jazz of Tigran Hamasyan, Oded Tzur and Christian Scott, but also from traditional music. After a first trio album “The Unchosen Way” (“revelation” Jazz Magazine), for his residency Sylvain tries out a larger formation with his new quintet and offers an original repertoire. Created in 2012, #JazzDeDemain gave birth to a series of residencies, allowing artists to experience the stage and explore a repertoire. #BeCurious! With his friends he expresses intense, sensitive, sometimes poetic music. Sylvain Le Ray peint un univers qui se veut tour à tour contemplatif, poétique, mais aussi très urbain. Le compositeur puise son inspiration dans le jazz moderne de Tigran Hamasyan, Oded Tzur ou encore Christian Scott, mais aussi des musiques traditionnelles.Après un premier album en trio « The Unchosen Way» (« révélation » Jazz Magazine), pour sa résidence Sylvain s’essaie à une plus grande formation avec son nouveau quintet et propose un répertoire original. Créé en 2012, #JazzDeDemain a donné naissance à une série de résidences, permettant à des artistes d’expérimenter la scène et de rôder un répertoire.
