Artiste avant-gardiste, modernité sans limite et immense curiosité musicale, Thierry Maillard évolue, avec des compositions fouillées au style très "signé", nées de son amour pour la Musique en général.Le projet « moog project» est un hommage que Thierry Maillard a voulu rendre à la période 1970 avec des artistes qui utilisaient à cette époque l’analogique au premier plan, avec des groupes comme Mahavishnu Orchestra, Joe Zawinul, Georges Duke…Ainsi que des groupes comme Supertramp, tant ces artistes de génie, à la créativité hors normes, a pu être inspirant pour lui.Ce projet est un point important de son travail d’écriture depuis plus de 30 ans, avec un trio unique car 2 pianistes et 1 batteur : 1 piano acoustique, 1 fender Rhodes et 1 Wurlitzer et des claviers analogique portés par la puissance rythmique d'un Yoann Schmidt a la batterie. Après 35 ans de carrière en tant que pianiste, compositeur et orchestrateur, Thierry Maillard a construit son travail autour d’un axe majeur qui lui est cher et intrinsèque à sa formation de musicien : le mélange du jazz et de la musique classique.Ses influences sont diverses et variées, le lyrisme et le romantisme de la musique classique bien sûr, la force rythmique du jazz rock, les audaces de la musique contemporaine, l’élégance et le swing de l’âge d’or du jazz.
