Ente Manifestazioni Pescaresi (EMP) is a not-for-profit organization, named in ltaly “Ente Morale” (Moral Authority). lts Members are the Municipality of Pescara and “Fondazione PescarAbruzzo”. We started the activity in 1950 and have been organizing Pescara Jazz Festival for 45 years (the first Pescara Jazz Festival started in 1969).
We organize the Festival in July; we have an open space Theatre with 2.000 seats. Every great Jazz musician has performed in Pescara (starting with Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Mingus, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson to Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Herbie Jancock, Keith Jarret and many others).
