Saturday Night Jazz returns for a summer series on Woodmere Art Museum's lawn. Enjoy an evening outdoors surrounded by nature and monumental sculptures! Two performances per evening begin at 5 & 7pm.
The original King of Soul, Sam Cooke was called the “inventor” of soul music. He set the bar for Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Lou Rawls, Marvin Gaye, and many more. Composing and singing songs like “You Send Me,” “Having A Party,” and the classic “A Change Is Gonna Come” have earned him a permanent place in America’s musical legacy. Join The Arpeggio Jazz Ensemble with guest vocalist Roy Richardson as they put some of Sam’s music on the “cooker” and stir memories and hearts with his wonderful sound.
