About the BRUCE GATES BIG BAND:
Led by the former USAF Band Airmen of Note lead trumpeter, the Bruce Gates Jazz Consortium Big Band is a hand picked, 16 piece ensemble of the "creme'-de-la-creme'" of the Valley's music scene. With an emphasis on top shelf musicianship, the band eschews the typical "stock" charts heard so often in favor of custom, forward-looking arrangements of standards and jazz classics, and rare, historically significant, seldom heard big band classics.
For this performance, the band will present the music of the White House Dance Orchestra. Many of these fantastic, swinging manuscripts have not been heard, or danced to, in a public setting for nearly 40 years!
Bruce and members of his band have played with the Soloman Douglas Swingtet for AZ Lindy Hop events at the Wrigley Mansion.

About DENNIS ROWLAND:
Dennis Rowland is best-known for his association with the Count Basie Orchestra during the last seven years (1977-84) of Basie’s life, touring the world with the classic orchestra. Dennis is one of the most recognized voices and personalities worldwide and still performs with today’s Count Basie Orchestra. Dennis will perform tunes from his days with Count Basie using Basie's original charts!!
