Aubrey Martin,17 year old jazz tenor saxophonist, has been attending the Tucson Jazz institute for 6 years, and has participated the Essentially Ellington and other festivals. He made it to All-State Jazz 3 years and received an outstanding solo award in New York.

Dalton Danks, 18, began playing drums six years ago, and has attended the Tucson Jazz Institute for 2 years. He has received soloist awards at the Fullerton and NAU jazz festivals as well as first place in the 2013 and 2014 Essentially Ellington Competition and the 2014 Next Generation Jazz Festival Combo Division. He will attend the Manhattan School of Music this fall....

John Black, 17 year old Trombonist and Trumpeter, has been a member of the Tucson Jazz Institute for 5 years and a member of the “TJI Ellington Band” for 4 years. He has attended many jazz festivals included Essentially Ellington.

Robbie Lee, 17, will be attending the Manhattan School Of Music. He started playing piano at age 12 and now plays with the Tucson Jazz Institute’s Ellington Band whom have recently won awards at multiple competitions. His awards include Outstanding Soloist at NAU and Fullerton Jazz Festivals, as well as The Ella Fitzgerald Outstanding Soloist Award in the 2014 Essentially Ellington Competition.

Zachary Lavine, 18, will be attending the New England Conservatory next year. He is the recipient of soloist awards from the Fullerton, ABODA, Essentially Ellington and NAU jazz competitions. He is the bass player for the Tucson Jazz Institute Ellington Big Band, the 2013 and 2014 winner of the Essentially Ellington competition as well as a host of other awards from 2012 to 2014.
