Both Steve and Emmett Chapman, the creator of the Chapman Stick, have performed on the MIM stage. Steve has recorded six CDs as a band leader and has recorded and performed with Les Paul, Larry Coryell, Tony Levin, Pat Martino, Rachel Z and Oz Noy. He has also authored a Chapman Stick instructional method book with Mel Bay and a tutorial DVD with TrueFire Publications. Steve relocated to the Phoenix area in 2019 and continues to perform, and is one of the few teacher os the Chapman Stick to students all over the globe. Come in to The Nash for a cold drink and some great jazz before tackling the rest of the First Friday attractions on Roosevelt Row.
