Brave Musician is a comprehensive initiative for musicians’ personal development in creative confidence and empowerment. The Brave Musician Jam session hosted by Monica Shriver is a supportive environment for musicians of all ages, styles, and levels to make music together. Have you always wanted to go to a jam session but didn’t really know what it was about? Do you have something that you want to try, maybe a song or chord progression or just an idea? Do you have a poem to read or lyrics you want to try? Do you play an instrument that isn’t as commonly seen in jazz? Do you want to meet and play with new people? This is a jam session for you. We are open to not playing entire songs, having strange instrumentation, and experimenting. Discussion will be encouraged. And we might even try something more than once. Preference will be given to attendees of the Brave Musician summer workshop, however, the event is open to everyone! This is a great opportunity for audiences to witness spontaneous musical collaborations....
