The Chicago Tribune awarded pianist/singer Judy Roberts the title “Chicago’s Favorite Jazz Woman.” Yet she is also recognized as a worldwide jazz star. A multiple Grammy nominee, Judy’s twenty-plus album/CD releases include the “The Other World,” whose hit single Señor Blues was number one on the jazz charts and in radio airplay; the album “Trio,” with Ray Brown and Jeff Hamilton; the song Twilight World, co-written with piano diva Marian McPartland; and her international hit rendition of Dave Frishberg’s My Attorney Bernie. Greg grew up in the Chicago and began playing clarinet at the age of 12, tenor saxophone at 13, and started working professionally around Chicago at 15. At 19, he added flute to his instruments. Fishman has performed with The Woody Herman Big Band, The Louie Bellson Big Band, Slide Hampton, Jackie Cain & Roy Krall, Lou Levy, Marian McPartland, Conte Candoli, Ira Sullivan, Clark Terry, Ralph Burns, and Don Menza. Fishman has his Masters in Jazz Music Pedagogy from Northwestern University. He is the author of numerous highly respected jazz books that are ubiquitous among students and educators.
