Downbeat Critics Poll Rising Star winner Roberta Piket makes her first appearance at the Nash, accompanied by local greats Ben Hedquist and Sheila Earley.  Roberta is a forward-thinking modernist who is also deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. A self-described “closet singer,“ Roberta will bring some of her vocal arrangements to the bandstand as well.
This special one-night-only event finds Roberta on her way back to her native New York after playing the Telluride Festival with bassist Rufus Reid’s quartet. Roberta also performs regularly with jazz drummer Victor Jones and with her husband, the drummer Billy Mintz.
