Tony received his formal training at Arizona State University’s jazz department under the direction of Dan Hearle and Tom Ferguson, and went on to perform and teach in the Phoenix area for the next several years. In 1982, Tony moved to Chicago, where he spent the next 16 years as a highly regarded professional musician and educator.
