Scandinavia has been home to trailblazers in the world of jazz since the 1970s. Characterized by “stark” tones, allusions to natural sounds, and folk music influences, jazz with a “Nordic sound” has a distinctive style. Union32 vibist Brett Reed, “This music is hauntingly simple and beautiful, while also not being much like the American jazz we are accustomed to – it has now been a big influence on our other writing and arranging.” Tickets $25, $10 Students (25 & under w/ ID)
