Valley-favorite drummer John Lewis will lead a trio with stellar musicians Nick Manson on piano and Tom Williams on bass at the June 8th Jazz in AZ party at The Nash.

John will be presenting vocalist Phyllis Battle from L.A. Jazz Now Magazine says, "Phyllis Battle is an uncompromising Jazz Singer...With hints of Carmen McRae and Sarah Vaughan, she sings some of the most musical songs with ease and panache suggesting a maturity not matched by her fame."

Phyllis Battle, was born in Chicago and raised in New York. For sixteen years she sang with the internationally acclaimed, nine-time Grammy Award-winning group The 5th Dimension, which is where she started her musical relationship with long-time regular drummer John Lewis.
