Born and raised east of the Los Angeles river, Las Cafeteras are telling modern stories through remixing roots music. A striking musical fusion with a positive message and East LA sound, their Afro-Mexican beats, rhymes and rhythms serve uplifting lyrics that document stories of a community seeking justice and love. Using traditional Son Jarocho instruments like the requinto, jarana, quijada (donkey jawbone) and tarima (wooden platform), Las Cafeteras sings in English, Spanish and Spanglish and create bold new sounds from rock to rancheras and hip hop to cumbia, building bridges between communities and cultures through the universal vibration of music.
