7:30 PM – 10:00 PM; Tickets $20, $10 Students (25 & Under w/ ID); Monica Shriver-woodwinds and artwork, Ben Hedquist-bass, Erik Teichmann-drums and special guest, Stan Smith – guitar. The Monica Shriver Jazz Project will perform a mixture of classic jazz standards and original compositions by Monica Shriver and Stan Smith, including some adventurous exploring of the relationship and connection between improvisation and abstract art. Following in the footsteps of great jazz improvisors such as Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, Charles Mingus, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis’s 2nd Quintet, the Monica Shriver Jazz Project will incorporate all styles of jazz including blues, dixieland, swing, free, modern, latin, funk and hip hop.
