Women In Jazz Series: Claudia Bloom - Duos & Quartets at The Nash

Claudia Bloom will be joined by Natalie Gallatin playing an “evening of duets and quartets”. We will feature the music of contemporary composers such as Joshua Redman,  Helen Sung, Tigran Hamasyan, Christine Jensen , Joni Mitchell and others with creative arrangements by Claudia Bloom.
Claudia strives to create and perform music, mostly composed by women,  that hasn’t been “ heard” before by arranging standards and finding music that is not typically played in traditional Phoenix jazz settings. Her background includes early experiences at Naropa institute studying free improvisation, lessons with Joanne Brackeen, and the incredible live jazz and blues music available to young people during her formative years in Chicago.
