The Gypsy Jazz Ambassadors are modeled after the Paris jazz club scene of the 1920’s through 1950’s. Jazz music from America came to Europe, where it was picked up by traveling gypsies, who were then hired to perform in these clubs. The most famous of these is Django Reinhardt.

Musicians are:

Andy Kelly, band leader, music educator, music therapist, and community leader. Andy has studied music at Williams College, and has been performing jazz music around the globe for over 40 years. Andy’s life mission is to help make peace using music as his tool....

Charlie Tokarz, woodwind player, music educator, and performer. Charlie has performed as a member of the Sister City Jazz Ambassadors for over 10 years. He teaches saxophone at Hotchkiss School.

Eileen Markland, violinist. Eileen teaches and performs on a regular basis throughout the Northeast.

John Kelly, bassist, music teacher, bandleader. John has many musical projects in the works at all times. He is most interested in blending electronic music with live performance including traditional instruments.
