Called "one of the most prominent drummers of the '90s," Carl Allen has laid down the groove for some of the leading titans of jazz. He was music director for Freddie Hubbard and drummer for the touring and recording groups of Jackie McLean, Woody Shaw, Dewey Redman and George Coleman (among many others).
