The Vermont Jazz Center presents Thelonious Monk Vocal competition winner, Gretchen Parlato with her working quartet. Gretchen is poised on the edge between rising star and household name; within the jazz community she is acknowledged with respect and the highest accolades. For example, the Village Voice jazz critic's poll voted her recent CD as the best jazz vocal recording of 2009.
