Cuban-born pianist, Manuel Valera is on a tear. His most recent recording "New Cuban Express" garnered him a nomination for a 2013 Grammy Award in the Best Latin Jazz Album category and earned him 4 ½ starts from DownBeat Magazine. Valera represents the new generation of Latin Jazz players who are fluent in both their home-styles and those of the jazz lineage. What they bring to jazz is a rich, enhanced palette informed by parallel histories. Valera will be bringing the band used on his acclaimed recording.
