Pucho & His Latin Soul Brothers at Vermont Jazz Center

Pucho and the Latin Soul Brothers are an 8-piece band with a history linked directly to the mid-60s roots of Latin Boogaloo.  Boogaloo is a marriage of many styles, it mixes Cuban son montuno and mambo with American R&B, soul and hardbop. The leader, playing Cuban timbales, is Henry “Pucho” Brown, an African American drummer who fell in love with Latin music as an adolescent while growing up in Harlem. "All about Jazz" calls their music a groove-oriented mixture of hard bop, Afro-Cuban salsa and R&B.” There will be room for dancing!
