The eyes of the jazz world will be on the Berkshires tonight, as we celebrate the career, the life, and the music of Phil Woods. The tribute will be performed by a gathering of the NEA Jazz Master’s quintet, with Brian Lynch (trumpet), Bill Mays (piano), Steve Gilmore (bass) and Bill Goodwin (drums), along with Woods’ protégé Grace Kelly on alto saxophone.Kelly and Woods have a long history in the Berkshires, going back to 2006, when he introduced her to local audiences, collaborating on "I'll Remember April," a performance that gave rise to her composition and CD, "Man With The Hat."
