Stephanie Nakasian performs a special one-time vocal concert, entitled “Thrush Hour,” entailing a musical survey of 10 of the great historic jazz singers.

A national recording artist, Nakasian is renowned for her unique vocal insights and capabilities that enable her to sing in the styles, and with the sensibilities, of her subjects, who range from Ether Waters to June Christy, Ella Fitzgerald to Sarah Vaughn, Billie Holiday to Abbey Lincoln, and more.

In the program, Nakasian performs 10 selected classic vocal works, and relates the historical context of the composition and the original singer. Appearing with the Hod O’Brien Trio (David Clark on bass, George Schuller on drums; O’Brien on piano), this is their first performance in the Berkshires since her rousing reception at the 2014 Pittsfield CityJazz Festival....
