Up-and-coming New York City guitarist and composer, Ryan Meagher, is teaming up with members of the influential Los Angeles Jazz Collective to bring Portland a look into some of the freshest improvisation and composition modern jazz has to offer. Meagher's approach to jazz was hailed by Jazz Times as "accomplished, uncliched, and free-wheeling"; and his signature "modern jazz for the indie rocker" vibe is well-present on his newest release, Tone, on the Fresh Sound New Talent label.
