The Chris Clark Trio is a high-energy, modern jazz trio comprised of Zack Teran on bass, Chris Clark on saxophone, and Jesus Vega on drums. The group was formed at the School of Music at the University of Nevada, Reno, where all three members have studied jazz and improvisational music. Their influences include artists such as Rich Perry, Peter Epstein, Brian Blade, Ari Honig, Drew Gress, and also an eclectic mix of rock and pop groups, resulting in a unique sound which bridges across genres. The trio's repertoire consists primarily of original compositions by members of the group, in addition to select standards and covers of pop artists such as Tool and Bjork.
