A natural boundary-pusher, Kirke was exploring country long before its current renaissance. With Trailblazer, Kirke embraces her roots and contradictions, teaming with GRAMMY-winning producer Daniel Tashian (Kacey Musgraves, Sarah Jarosz). Together, they crafted songs that are “a little bit country and a little bit rock ’n’ roll.” From the tender Easy on You and the witty 2 Damn Sexy (with Ashley Monroe) to the cinematic Mississippi, My Sister, Elvis and Me, the record balances heart, humor, and raw honesty.
After making her Grand Ole Opry debut in 2024—wearing June Carter’s dress borrowed from Rosanne Cash—Kirke continues to prove herself as one of the most original voices in modern Americana. With Trailblazer, she reminds us that being yourself is its own form of rebellion.
