CHAD RUPP AND THE DIVINE FIRE BLUES BAND IS......


Ashbolt Stewart has been playing drums in the Portland area for many years, leading his own band, Bolt Upright from 2001 to present. As Norman Sylvester’s drummer from 1995 till 2005, he kept the beat rock steady and funky for a decade. He has hosted jam sessions and kept the music alive wherever he plays and continues to do so by offering up his talent as a drummer, showman and songwriter and currently hosting one of the most amazing jams in the Portland area at Monte Villa Station.

Calen Uhlig has been playing bass for some of the best R&B acts in Portland and has lent his skill to LaRhonda Steele, The Chris Baum Project and is currently performing with Philly Phunkestra as well as the Ruppshakers and the Divine Fire Blues Band. He adds considerable talent to any line up, bringing the funk, soul and blues to the bottom end of any band he is playing with. ...

Thomas Uhde (Thomas Blues or Tommy Blue) is an amazing harmonica player and an outstanding showman. Thomas has played and recorded with the likes of Mick Taylor, Bo Diddly, Jerry Groom and John Popper, even collaborating with Willie Dixon on “Hip-shake”. Back in Portland after years in California and New Mexico, he stopped into the Tillicum for his birthday and has been playing with the band ever since. The “ Little Bluesman” has toured all over the country and I’m proud to present him to any stage.


Chad Rupp is the leader of this band and takes on the duties of guitar, keys and vocals with a distinct tone and a soulful voice. Fresh out of a production of deLayed, a theatre production based on Paul deLay's final days before incarceration, Chad has brought blues to the west side of Portland with his prolific jam sessions and a Muddy award nominated band, the Ruppshakers. The Divine Fire Blues Band is an evolution of the Ruppshakers, bringing new material and a fresh take on Portland's blues scene.
