Latin jazz vocalist Jessie Marquez blends Cuban, Brazilian, jazz, and pop sounds in duos with lush harmonies and cool grooves. Her duo performance with pianist Clay Giberson combines songs and stories with loving and longing themes that reflect Marquez’s “sexy, cool, and inviting” style (The Urban Flux). Marquez got on-the-job training in Havana, where she recorded with members of the Afro-Cuban Allstars.
