Robinson, who played lead guitar while his brother Chris Robinson took frontman/lead vocalist duties in the Black Crowes, was forced to reinvent himself following the band’s decision to go on indefinite hiatus in 2001. In the past ten years, The Black Crowes have reunited (and broken up again) several times, but Robinson’s solo career has continued to thrive. In 2011 he released Through a Crooked Sun, and then just last year, Robinson recorded and released The Ceaseless Sight, an acclaimed record that Rolling Stone has called an “earthy balance of electric-blues bravado, psychedelic-country exploration and almost courtly vocal cool.”
