Bob Shaut began the band in 1986 as a vehicle to compose and arrange for saxophone quartet and rhythm section, and soon began performing concerts at schools, jazz festivals, clubs, weddings and swing dance parties. It became a sax quartet in the late nineties for a few years, then took a few years off after the loss of key players Ron Finck and Ed Summerlin. The band is back and better than ever, having released its first CD, "The Saxophone and the Drum" with music composed by Bob Shaut.
