Lew Scott (bassist) has been performing in the New York area and throughout the country for many years. He hasperformed with many notable musicians, including Clark Terry, Conti Condoli, Frank Rosolino, Joe Lavano, Herb Ellis,George Coleman, Dave Liebman, Jack Sheldon, Peggy Stern and John Abercrombie, as well as many others. He hastoured with vocalists Melba Morre, Lainie Kazan, Nnena Frelon and Michael Amante. Lew has worked with Anita O’Day,Mark Murphy and many other singers, including Robert Goulet, Vic Damone, Sergio Franchi, Jerry Vale, Al Martino, EddieFisher, Florence Henderson, Julie Budd and Lucie Arnaz. He has also performed with many groups, including the FourAces and the Fifth Dimension. In the past, Lew was a competition cyclist, but now, he rides his bicycle around the county forenjoyment.
Steve Rubin (drummer) has been a musician for over 50 years. He and his wife moved to Orange CountyNY in 2005 from New York City.Background in rock, classic R&B, funk, jazz and world music styles.Studied with Mel Lewis of The Thad Jones / Mel Lewis Orchestra and Sonny Igoe.Founded The Hudson Valley Jazz Festival.Leads The Skye Jazz Trio, Hudson Valley Jazz Quartet ( Ensemble), a rotating groupcomprised of jazz musicians in the region.Co-founder of Beyond Jazz, 6 piece improvisational group along with Rick Savage, EdLittman, J. Brunka, Ian Smitt and Joe Tranchina .Steve feels fortunate for the opportunity to have met and worked with the broad range ofgreat jazz players in the area.
Joe Vincent Tranchina (pianist) Voted Hudson Valley 2010 Jazz Musician of the Year in TimesHerald-Record's annual Best Of readers’ poll, recognized 23 times with ASCAP’s“Popular Music Award,” for performances of original jazz compositions and contributionsto American Music, and twice honored by the Lehman Center for the Performing Arts“Best of the Bronx” series with concert presentations of his original work, is anestablished pianist, composer, arranger, and accompanist, and has performed in mostof the major jazz and club venues throughout New York City and the surrounding area.He has also performed in the concert venues of Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, WeillRecital Hall at Carnegie Hall, Flushing Town Hall and Jazz Mobile, among others, andhas toured abroad in Germany, Switzerland, Greece, and Japan. The composer, andoccasional lyricist, of over 1500 compositions, Tranchina’s work ranges from straightahead, fusion, Latin and Brazilian jazz to new age, world beat, pop and classical.
